Welcome to “Ocean Monitoring Database”

Summary

Ocean Monitoring Database is a database developed by CREST, a funding program by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
This database stores many useful data, including nucleotide sequences obtained from the seawater samples regularly taken from the fixed points. Some physical and biological data of the sampling places and times are also included. These data were obtained from the team research projects as shown below.

Research subject

  • Team Gojobori
    • Evaluation of biodiversity and prediction of environmental changes by digital dna chip
    • Research Director : Takashi Gojobori (Professor, Waseda University)
  • Team Kogure
    • Development of marine ecosystem evaluation methods in the high throughput sequencing era
    • Research Director : Kazuhiro Kogure(Professor, the University of Tokyo)
  • Team Takeyama
    • Construction of the environmental risk mathematical model by the meta-omics analyses of marine unculturable microbes based on single cell genome information
    • Research Director : Haruko Takeyama (Professor, Waseda University)

Characteristics of data installed in this database

In this database, nucleotide sequences obtained from metagenomic analysis of the seawater samples, which were taken from selected points in the sea with the environmental information of each sampling place and time. Experimental methods used for obtaining these data are also included.
